QS4 is uniquely placed to bring benefit to parishes
and mobile phone operating operators, and to improve
phone and internet services in the community.
Many of the 16,000 parish and guild churches
across England could be suitable for housing installations
for the new generation of mobile communications.
The use of a local church tower can give a clear
strong signal, able to carry both voice calls
and broadband data services.

Church buildings have a special significance
in the communities they serve, and the mission
and environment of the church and its many listed
buildings have to be protected. The Church of
England has a strict legal process for granting
permission to change the fabric of a church building,
and this applies to telecommunications installations.
Without full understanding of these special needs,
church installations can be time consuming and
difficult for both the operators and parishes
concerned.
QS4 has worked with the Archbishops' Council
to develop a standard approach to both the practical
and legal aspects of aerial installations. Parishes
have access to specially selected QS4 project
managers and are given detailed supporting handbooks
as well as a central helpline.
This makes the overall installation process simpler,
to the mutual benefit of Operators and the Parish.
QS4 is independent from the mobile phone operators.
We design sites for occupancy by several operators.
The patented antenna sharing technology of our
sister company, Quintel Technology, means that
only one set of antennas is needed, which can
normally be concealed.
Site sharing reduces costs to operators and brings
the potential of extra income to the parish.

Parishes who wish to nominate their church as
a candidate location for an installation, should
